How To Spend Valentine’s When You’re Single

It’s that time of year again. All the shops cram in the bright red roses, cutesy teddy bears and over the top chocolates. It’s all a bit of an assault on my senses as I embrace another Valentine’s Day as a singleton. Valentines has always been a bit of a bugbear of mine. I don’t think you other half should use that one day as an excuse to show you more love than usual, it’s all a bit forced and who likes anything that’s forced? If you’re single, why not treat yourself and do some of these things when the date rolls around? Self love is the best love after all!

DIY pamper evening
Splash some cash on a Lush bath bomb, lay back and lounge in the tub and light a few candles. It’s always good to unwind and have some ‘me’ time. I love to give myself a little mani and pedi too – a fresh coat of nail polish has me feeling more confident and fresh!

Spend the evening with your friends
This year, I’ll be heading to my bestie Liss’ to munch on pizza whilst watching a film and popping open a bottle of prosecco. Have a galentines and show your friends how much you appreciate them! Valentine’s isn’t just for couples!

Get some retail therapy
Online shopping makes me happy. End of. There’s nothing quite like having a browse, loading up your basket and waiting for that little notification that your order has been shipped and is waiting for you patiently at home. Happiness really is coming back to an ASOS order ❀

Buy your favourite dessert and get lost in a book
No doubt I’ll be purchasing something delicious for me and Liss to have, but if I were spending the evening on my own, I’d feel no shame in a date with my two favourite fellas – Ben and Jerry – and getting lost in a bloody good book. I’ve just finished reading ‘Some Kind of Wonderful’ by Giovanna Fletcher and couldn’t put it down!

Stick on your favourite film or series
Sometimes you’ve just gotta get the feel good films out and watch them again. For me, you can’t beat Bridesmaids, anything with Adam Sandler in and of course a bit of Bridget. Binge watch a few episodes of that new series you’re enjoying and definitely buy some goodies to snack on.

Maybe you’re loved up and spending Valentine’s with your other half, and that’s great! But if you’re just not that fussed and want some ideas on how to love yourself this Valentine’s, maybe try one of the above? πŸ™‚ Thanks for reading – I appreciate every one of you that is subscribed or reads any of my posts – big love!

Happy Valentine’s
