Oh GAWD how is it September? 2 months today and I’ll be turning 24 (say what!?) and 10 months ago today I returned fro my travels. This year is going crazy fast, so another month needs be accounted for and reminisced upon! August, you were amazing!
Where I Went:
Amsterdam | Holland – I know I’ve done a couple of blog posts on it already but I fell in LOVE with this amazing city so it deserves another mention! Me and my bestie Lucy headed for a long weekend to ‘Dam and were dazzled by it’s amazing culture, food, bars and nightlife. It was a really cool few days spent exploring another city I’ve always wanted to visit. You can check out my post all about it HERE, what I wore HERE and the video of our trip on my YouTube channel HERE (don’t forget to subscribe!).
Friends Fest | Blenheim Palace | Oxfordshire – Me and my sister Becca went along to immerse ourselves in all things Friends at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire and it was so cool and geeky as you can imagine! They showed episodes on a big screen outside where you could chill out in a deckchair, they had props and outfits from the series and we got to pose for photos in all the top spots including Central Perk and Monica and Chandler’s apartment.
Dunkirk Cinema Trip | Aylesbury Odeon – Oh lordy what an emotional hour and a half. This film was so moving it had me in tears many times, PLUS Harry Styles was really good in it (!) and Tom Hardy on the big screen is always a delight ❤ MUST WATCH.
What I Read:
Harry Potter & The Cursed Child \ J.K Rowling – I’m a Harry Potter fanatic and have only got round to reading this! I resisted buying this instalment at first because I wasn’t sure about reading a script from start to finish but I’m loving it! The only problem is, I now want to book tickets to go back to the studio tour and to see the show in London. Crippling times for my poor bank account…
A Very Special Card – One of my best friends Laura invited us all to hers for a BBQ and gave us girls a beautiful handmade box full of photos, poems, cards and… bridesmaid goodies! That’s right, I’m going to be a bridesmaid for the first time ever and I couldn’t be more excited! There were tears and lots of smiles, it’s going to be amazing! I’m so lucky to have such a solid group of ladies in my life.
What I Ate:
The Works | Aylesbury – If you haven’t frequented this dessert bar yet, what have you been doing with your life? Only joking, but seriously, you have to try some of the amazing ice cream flavours, especially dolloped on top a waffle or crepe or if you’re a fat pig like me, between two amazing gooey chocolate cookies. Ultimate indulgence – go give them a follow on @eatattheworks on Instagram for pictures that’ll make you drool!
The Bugle Horn | Aylesbury – Me, Liss and Hollie met up for a catchup and were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine whilst chowing down on steak and roast dinners! The desserts were amazing too – a really nice spot.
What I Bought:
Polar Watch – I bought this for 50 odd quid in the hope that actually seeing my real-time calorie burn and heart rate would encourage me to workout harder and more frequently. I can say that it has indeed spurred me on! It’s so good being able to see the calories I’m burning and pop them into the MyFitnessPal app rather than guess how many calories I burn during a HIIT session. It comes with a chest strap and handy guide and is surprisingly easy to use.
Bucket Bag | Zara – I wanted a casual weekend bag that I could also take with me to Amsterdam that wasn’t too big and bulky. This was perfect, I saw it perched on the shelf in Zara, took one look and went straight to the till (Lucy and Zo even joked that I’d named it already). It was available in black but I wanted the splash of colour, and for £19.99 I am pleased as punch with this new purchase!
Funday Jumper | New Look – I saw this jumper on the New Look instagram, fell in love but thought ‘can I carry that off?’. When I went into Wycombe shopping with Lucy and Zo, I saw it, tried it on and thought ‘F*ck it, it’s mine!’. I love the slogan and red is definitely my colour this month, I’ve got to learn not to care about what others think and wear clothes that I like and make me feel good.
Baby Clothes | Next – My bestie Dan’s sister had her little bundle of joy on 26th August and I had to treat her to a cute new outfit and something for the nursery. This sausage dog mix and max outfit is from Next, as is the nursery wall art. I met Aoife Marley at the weekend and am a little bit besotted – feeling broody at 23 and what!?
Aw, I love looking back on everything I’ve done in a month. Not too shabby me thinks. What was your favourite part of August?
With love and positive vibes
